From what I can see, you got the code from here. Could you please be clear on what does not work? What have you tried so far? It seems to me. Apr 06, 2016 I'm having trouble with Excel not opening SDF files. I'm attempting to follow directions for homework that say to open Excel, then go to file, open, then open the file I want to be on Excel. I follow those directions but then text import wizard comes up and says that the SDF file is delimited. Hi vtnpschnrscnc, As far as I know SDF file is compact.
I know this question has been asked a bajillion times, so I apologize for the redundancy.I am working with an Excel spreadsheet and saving it as a.csv file in order to upload to an application that parses out the.csv data as transactions. The system requires.csv files, so this is how I need to save my doc (with this extension). I have been successful at preventing Excel from coverting that long number into scientific format. I have saved as a TXT file, pasted the longer number and it displays correctly. That is all good.
But I have to save as a.csv. So if I do that, close the Excel window, and then open again (as the.csv file), the numbers are back to being displayed in scientific format. I have tried creating an Excel doc from scratch and entering text in Text format, to see if this created a cleaner file.
But again, the second I save as.csv, close the window and then open that file up again, that dang scientific format is back.Does anyone have any idea of how to work around this? Once I have successfully gotten the numbers to display as the long-chain number, how can I get them to 'stick' so that they don't revert back to scientific format when I reopen the file? Thanks so much for your help!
I am looking for assistance in having one cell in a text format equals another cell that contains a time value in hh:mm format. For example: Cell A1 has a time format (hh:mm) value of 04:00; which is the Start Time. I would like cell D1 to have a text format value of '04:00' (result is dependant upon what is entered in A1). I would duplicate the same formulas to reflect Stop Times in other cells. My final result is to have another cell (F1) use the Concatenate formula to have the Start and Stop time shown in one cell as '04:00 - 12:30'. The times would change based on the Time formated values entered into the Start and Stop time cells.I have researched this in the board and found many excellent ways to do the opposite, but not convert Time format to Text format. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.-Shane. I have a file that became too big due to phantom bloat, unused range saved by Excel and all that kind of reasons. Thank to previous posts on that board tackling that issue, I was able to find how to proceed to reduce the file back to its normal size. But I did so in a beta file (test file).
The real file has become so big (103MB!) that Excel cannot even open it anymore! The file contains archive info that we do not have anywhere else.Is there anyway then to open the file or to reduce its size without opening it (through magics.)? I just honestly don't know how to retrieve that info before deleting that file.Thank you very much for your help. I need help desparately. Last night I spent several hours working on anExcel 2002 spreadsheet and it has disappeared.I saved it routinely as I was making many changes updates etc. I openedoriginal file -stuff.xls - made changes and saved it as again asstuff.xls.
I have done this several times before.Today, when I go to open stuff.xls, it is nowhere to be found!!!!! I havedone a search, for any file modified since Thurs and nothing has appeared. Ihave checked the recycle bin, this did not go into auto recover nothing ofthe like. I am just traumatized, because I have NEVER had anything like thishappen before.I even thought perhaps I didn't save it as often as I thought, (I know thatI did) but I remembered that I saved it at least once and I can't even findan Excel file that has been modified since Thurs!!!Does anyone have any idea what could have happened to this file?? BTW, Ihave prayed, rebooted, run spybot, called witch doctor, all with no success.I have never had a file to just disappear with no trace. Any help would begreatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hi, this is something so simple that I have forgotten how to do it.I want F3 to turn yellow if someone selects 'Yes' from a drop down list in cell E3, then F3 has no fill once data is entered into it.
And F3 turns Black if E3= no selected from the list. Or F3 turns red if E3 contains 'TBC'so in summary,if E3='Yes', then F3 conditional format to Yellow until data is entered in it.if E3='No', then F3 conditional format to Blackif E3='TBC', then E3 & F3 conditional format to Red until E3 is changed to'Yes' or 'No' at a later time. Thanks in Advance for the helpMutley13. I'm trying to use conditional formatting to highlight phone calls that came in between certain hours. The call times are in the custom format h:mm, although it could easily be changed to an Excel time format.
I'm using Excel 2002. I want the cell to have a different fill color if it falls within particular time frames.Example: If the call came in between 22:00 and 23:59 color is light green. If the call came in between 23:59 and 08:00 the color is yellow.Example spreadsheet is attached. Thanks in advance. I'm trying to open a pdf file from within excel vba. Is it possible to import a single text file into Excel, splitting the incoming data across multiple worksheets rather than a single worksheet? Each each row on the text file would be evaluated by the value in one of it's 'columns' and written to the appropriate worksheet. The file is '!'
Delimited and has 11 columns for each row.Currently, I import the file into one worksheet and cut/paste the rows manually into new worksheets/tabs. The files are very large, sometimes exceeding the 65,536 row limit, which I could avoid if the data was split out coming in.Any help anyone could provide would be WONDERFUL.
An SDF is a file type that can refer to various different types of file. If you are trying to open a file that has this extension, it is best to open it with the program that created it. However, if you do not know this for any reason, you can follow a few easy steps to see if you can view its contents.
Step 1
Try to open the file with a viewer that supports the standard data format. The most common format type of files ending in the .SDF extension are of this type; a cross-platform medium for storing various types of data. Programs that can read these types of files include pervasive PSQL and dataBased Intelligence dBASE.
Step 2
Try opening the file with AutoCAD. AutoCAD is a computer-aided-design suite used by architects and 3D modelers. SDF files saved by AutoCAD contain geospatial and infrastructure data. In this case, SDF stands for spatial data format.'
Step 3
Try to open the file with a viewer that supports the structure data file type, a chemical data file format used natively by Avogadro for Macintosh. There are also many other programs that can open this type of file including Hyleos ChemFileBrowser, ChemDBsoft and CheD.
Use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 to open the file. The SDF extension is also used for the SQL server compact database format. Another third-party utility for opening this type of file is Flyhoward SDF Viewer.
